The Nursing Supervisor will play a key role in delivering inpatient Behavioral Health Services, and supporting the mental health of this bustling community.
Reporting directly to the Nurse Manager of Inpatient Psychiatric Services, and indirectly to the Administrative Director of the Behavioral Health Department, the Nursing Supervisor will join an outstanding team of BHS Nursing Professionals. This person will work closely with the Supervisor of Outpatient Psychiatric Nursing to ensure a smooth continuum of care, and they will oversee a strong team of tenured and Board Certified Psychiatric RNs.
The Nursing Supervisor will oversee clinical and administrative operations in a large department that offers a wide array of psychiatric and mental health services. The 22-bed inpatient unit, which includes an 8-bed locked unit, allows for patients experiencing acute mental health issues to receive expert treatment in a non-judgmental environment. The Psychiatric / Mental Health Unit here also offers treatments for Mood Disorders, Addiction Services, Dual Diagnosis, and many outpatient / clinic-based therapies.
The RN Nursing Supervisor will take on a critical role in the BHS Department, fulfilling both clinical and administrative duties. Working in collaboration with attending physicians, social workers, and psychologists, you’ll help coordinate and evaluate treatment. The Supervisor of Behavioral Health Nursing will also take a direct role in supporting the clinical growth of your staff, serving as a mentor and a constant beacon of inspiration.
Administratively, the BHS Nursing Supervisor will oversee all aspects of program and unit operations, reporting key performance indicators to the Executive Director and hospital leadership. You’ll take on the hiring and staffing of other compassionate and knowledgeable nurses, you’ll develop and implement needed policy adjustments to stay current with state and federal regulations, and you’ll develop quality targets to continually improve the BHS program and the medical center.
