Nurse Manager of Perioperative Services

A large not-for-profit health system in New York City is currently searching for a dedicated and motivated Surgical Services Nurse Manager to lead their busy OR.

This health system is consistently recognized for clinical quality, high patient satisfaction and safety measures. The Nurse Manager for Surgical Services position is located at one of their large Acute Care Hospitals that is a Teaching Hospital and Trauma Center. They are known in particular for their achievement in internal medicine, geriatrics, trauma, bariatric surgery, vascular disease and HIV/AIDS.

The Manager will run a Perioperative Service line that consists of over 90 full-time surgeons, performing approximately 34k surgeries per year. Some specialties include in general surgery, Oncological, thoracic, Cardiac, Trauma and Pediatric. The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room oversee the daily clinical and administrative operations of the main OR, Sterile Processing, SPU, PACU, Endoscopy, and Anesthesia. The OR Manager will be accountable for all aspects of managing and overseeing these areas, including supervising a large team of FTE’s, maintain high patient satisfaction and drive quality nursing practice.

The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services will report to a Director of Perioperative Services and will collaborate with this person on matters of performance improvement initiatives, ensuring all compliance with Local, State, Federal and Regulatory Agencies, development and implementation of new policy and procedure and evaluating the department for any opportunity for making changes that would increase quality, improve efficiency or cost savings, increase patient satisfaction or patient safety.
