Psychiatric Unit Nurse Director
A Director for a Mental Health Unit is needed at a 500-bed non profit hospital in the warm and sunny Los Angeles area. The award winning hospital is a leader in providing psychiatric and mental health services.
The RN Director of Mental Health develops and implements the goals of the department and supervises staff to promote the achievement of these goals. The Mental Health Services Nurse Director will oversee a 24 bed acute psychiatric unit providing inpatient adult psychiatric services as well as a Child, Adolescent and Family Center. Patients are provided with nursing care, education and therapeutic activities.
The Nurse Director of Mental Health Services oversees the daily and administrative operations of the unit and program including staff development, performance improvement, and policy implementation and budgeting. As the leader of the department, the RN Director should act as a mentor and professional role model that supports the provision of quality and compassionate nursing care.
The Mental Health Unit is comprised of psychiatrists, registered nurses, LVN’s, Recreational Therapy staff, therapists and social workers. The team is supportive of one another and is excited to welcome a leader to the unit who is compassionate, goal-oriented and well versed in psychiatric nursing practices.
This is a wonderful chance to join an exceptional organization whose mission is the driving force of their action and presence in the community they serve.
