PACU Nurse Manager
An Assistant Director of PACU is needed to lead a growing department at a hospital just a short drive from Washington DC.
The 500-bed hospital is in the midst of large expansion and is part of one of the largest health systems in the region. The Surgical Services Department will see its ORs grow. This academic hospital has one of the busiest ER’s in the area and is particularly well regarded for their Surgical Services, Oncology and Stroke Programs.
The Surgical Services has more than one PACU and this will support the hospital’s 13 bay Procedural PACU. Nurses on this unit provide the highest quality postoperative care according to ASPAN standards for patients recovering from a variety of procedures including Interventional Radiology, Bronchoscopy and Cardiac Catheterization.
The Assistant Director must make patient safety and providing exceptional patient care every day to every patient their highest priority. The PACU Assistant Director will value nursing education and professional development. New nurses on this unit are provided a comprehensive orientation, designed by a PACU Clinical Educator and customized to the nurses’ skills and experience.
The PACU Nurses are very engaged, participating in collaborative governance at the unit and hospital level and demonstrating exceptional nursing skill through participation in the Clinical Advancement Program.
